At our annual Council Christmas brunch Grand Knight Nick Gaudio presented the award of Knight of the Year 2011 to Tom Galenziewski. Here is the text of the presentation:
Knight of the Year 2011 Presentation
The Knight of the Year is typically a man who exemplifies through his life and service to the Council the attributes of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. The man I selected to be the Knight of the Year has shown all of these attributes. Council 12449’s Knight of the Year for 2011 is Tom Galenziewski.
- Tom has faithfully served as our council’s recorder and our assembly’s scribe
- He has provided me with invaluable help by serving as the liaison to the parish in scheduling all our events with requests for resources, pulpit announcements, and bulletin articles.
- He is a co-author of the Knights Korner
- He serves as the chair for the St. Vincent De Paul food drives where on more than one occasion he had to be present at every Mass to collect the food
- Tom is also on the pasta dinner planning committee and has the additional challenge of keeping Louie on the straight and narrow.
- He answers the assembly call-outs and participates in many events of faith
- All of this in addition to helping with Sunday donuts, pancake breakfast, tootsie roll drive, and whatever else is needed. He is one Knight that this council can reliably count on.
It is indeed a privilege and an honor to present to Tom Galenziewski the highest Award that a Council can present to one of its members: “2011 Knight of the Year.” Congratulations.
